Carvertise and Dolan Law Firm ‘Swarm’ NBA Finals with Mobile Marketing Fleet

May 1, 2023 – Just before the Golden State Warriors earned their first “W” in the NBA finals on Sunday night, Dolan Law Firm scored a marketing win outside San Francisco’s Chase Center. In the hours leading up to the big game, Carvertise—America’s leading rideshare advertising company—deployed a swarm of Dolan Law-branded Uber vehicles around the sports arena.

“We know the streets around the stadium were going to be jam-packed with fired-up fans,” says Carvertise Co-Founder Greg Star. “And Carvertise and Dolan Law were right in the center of the action.”

The San Francisco-based law firm, which has been running mobile marketing campaigns with Carvertise on San Francisco’s streets for more than 18 months, is one of many savvy advertisers taking advantage of the company’s popular “swarm events,” where fleets of branded vehicles are deployed where there are very large gatherings of people, including sporting events, concerts, fairs and festivals.

Sunday marked the first time in Carvertise’s history that it has activated a swarm event on basketball’s biggest stage.

“In the past several months, our branded cars have been turning heads all over San Francisco, proving to be an outstanding marketing vehicle for us,” says Chris Dolan, founder of Dolan Law Firm. “For the NBA finals, we decided to up the ante a bit and capitalize on the fan frenzy surrounding our hometown team.”

In the past past year, Carvertise has swarmed a variety of popular events in California and across the country on behalf of clients across numerous industries, with many more events planned around MLB events this summer and football in the fall. Some notable examples:

  • Inglewood, Calif.-based Centinela Hospital swarmed the Super Bowl in its hometown stadium, where the Los Angeles Rams prevailed over the Cincinnati Bengals; drivers also handed out marketing materials and branded COVID-19 safety kits to passersby.

  • At this year’s MLB  All-Star game at Dodger Stadium, Huggies, the popular diaper brand, will swarm the big game to reach its target audience—young and expanding families—in a meaningful way. It will also swarm 10 additional Dodger games throughout the remainder of the season.

  • Earlier this year, Gopuff, the food delivery company, also swarmed the Super Bowl and activated swarms to UCLA home basketball games and select Los Angeles Lakers games in a mission to gain brand recognition among college students.

“In each of these cases, our clients were looking to create excitement in front of a large crowd in a festive atmosphere,” Star says. “What better way to engage a crowd than to drive a billboard straight through the party?”

And in terms of effectiveness, Carvertise’s mobile marketing campaigns clearly pack a marketing punch worth rooting for: Statistics from a 2019 Nielsen out-of-home study reveal that wrapped cars have proven to be the most effective and memorable form of Out-of-Home advertising.

“While we may not know who’s going to prevail in each game, we’re certain that our clients will big the big winners with our sporting-event swarms,” Star says.
